Yep. It is low on power for a 650 cc single. The engine puts out about 30 HP, which is more like a typical 350.

If power is your main criteria for buying a motorcycle you shouldn't consider the Savage, but then you shouldn't consider _any_ single cylinder bike.

I've found mine to be as reliable as a stone ax (my main criteria), costs almost nothing in maintenance, has enough power/torque to plod along down the highway all day long, and looks fairly nice in my humble opinion.
